This course explores the different usages of the word sunnah across the various Islamic disciplines as well as establishing the authority of the sunnah as a legitmate source of Islamic legislation. Other topics include the role of the Messenger (saw) and the need for the sunnah, the position of the sunnah vis-a-vis the Qur’an, and the correct methodology in adhering to the sunnah. |

Objectives
- To provide students with an opportunity to worship Almighty Allah through understanding Hadith and Sunnah
- To enable the student to differentiate between Hadith and Sunnah
- To enable the student to articulate the different meanings of Sunnah according to the different science of Islamic Knowledge
- To have a firm knowledge of the evidences demonstrating the Authority of the Sunnah in the Islamic Legal model.
